A summary of my deadlift max tests performed on end of April, 2024.

Hi! I recently wanted to test my deadlift max (before starting a new plan).

To give you more context:

  • I've never done any proper max tests before.
  • The most weight I held in my hands was 135kg (297.6lbs).

How did it go?

Here's the short summary video with all the lifts:

I ended up with setting a PR at 150kg (at 91kg), which gives ~165% of body weight. I think that it moved quite well and I haven't truly tested my max capabilities. I could have probably added another 10kg to the bar, but I stopped because I started feeling unsecure about my technique (especially my lower back).

Not sure when I retest my maxes, but I'll hope the next time I'll do 150kg, it will go much faster!
